To accelerate the transformation and application of potato technology achievements in Tengzhou City and improve the level of spring potato cultivation technology. Recently, in Tengzhou, Shandong, the "2024 Innovation and Drive Results Release and Spring Potato Cultivation Technology Training Conference" was held. The conference released the list of winners for potato quality improvement, efficiency enhancement, and innovation projects, with 14 technological achievements applicable to the cultivation of new potato varieties, new technologies, new equipment, and processing new products in Tengzhou City winning awards. Among them, Qingdao Zhonghai Environment won the first prize of "Technological Innovation Leading the High Quality Development of Shandong Potato Industry" for its project "Solving Soil Obstacles Caused by Continuous Potato Production Technology and Methods".
Tengzhou, as the top brand of vegetable potatoes in China, has a brand value of up to 15.8 billion yuan, with over 1300 production, processing, and sales entities. The planting area covers 700000 mu and the yield per mu is over 5000 kilograms. Due to the rapid development of the industry and continuous cropping, soil physical and chemical properties have declined and microbial communities have become imbalanced, causing soil obstacles.
The award-winning project "Technology and Methods for Solving Soil Obstacles Caused by Continuous Potato Production" can effectively solve the problem of potato continuous cropping obstacles through the implementation of a series of innovative technologies and methods, promote the rapid development of the potato industry in Shandong and increase farmers' income, injecting new vitality into the sustainable development of the potato industry.
At the meeting, Mr. Song Yanjie, General Manager of Qingdao Zhonghai Environmental Solid Waste Business Unit, introduced the technology and solutions for solving soil obstacles in continuous cropping of potatoes in Zhonghai Environment. He pointed out that with the continuous expansion of potato planting area and the popularization of continuous cropping mode, soil barriers have become increasingly prominent, seriously affecting the yield and quality of potatoes. Through in-depth research, Zhonghai Environment has developed a full industry chain solution aimed at addressing the challenges of soil physicochemical properties decline and microbial community imbalance caused by potato continuous cropping.
The intelligent molecular membrane fermentation system with core technology converts organic waste such as livestock manure and tail vegetables into organic fertilizers, which not only solves the problem of waste disposal, but also improves soil fertility. By improving the soil environment and providing sufficient nutrient supply, it can promote the growth and development of sweet potatoes, improve yield and quality. At the same time, compared with traditional technology, this technology reduces investment costs by 70% and operating costs by 60%. With intelligent control, automated operation, and simple operation, it solves the problem of waste disposal in potato planting and breeding at low cost, realizing the cycle of planting and breeding.
Through this award, not only has Qingdao Zhonghai Environment demonstrated its outstanding contributions in the field of agricultural technology, but it has also opened up a new path for the sustainable development of the potato industry in Tengzhou and even the entire Shandong province.
