In the courtyard of an eco-farm in Gaotai, Gansu province, a forklift is scooping up a "hill" of black debris and loading it into the truck for transport. Mr. Zhang, the farm operator, stood on the side and looked happily, and after the "hill" in front of her was purchased, it will bring her tens of thousands of yuan in income.
"If we do not say, who can guess that this' little mountain 'is actually processed feces?" Mr. Zhang said: "We used the technology of 'membrane composting', and there was no odor after processing, and it became a good fertilizer." We were one of the first to introduce the equipment, and now the environment and revenue are benefiting!"
The environmental benefits mentioned by Mr. Zhang can be realized by turning around the farm. In this farm, there is no stench and dirt everywhere in people's impression, everywhere is clean, even the manure tank is empty.
In the south-eastern corner of the farm, a fermentation bed shaped like a growing greenhouse has just been emptied, and the finished product is a "hill" piled up in the yard.
"This is where the membrane compost is processed." Mr. Zhang introduced, "Our farm has 26,000 laying hens, more than 1,000 pigs, and 2,200 tons of livestock manure produced a year. In the past, feces were dried and had a great impact on the surrounding environment. Now, through the use of 'membrane composting', all feces have been harmless treatment, and it is clean."
In addition to environmental changes, the "membrane composting" project has also brought unexpected economic income.
"In the past, the excrement piled in the pond was not easy to deal with, and whoever needed it would come and take some away, which was almost equal to giving it away." "Now, we can process more than 300 tons of manure and produce more than 100 tons of organic fertilizer every 20 days. Surrounding cooperatives, farmers are to buy, provide equipment manufacturers will also buy back the minimum, the price of repurchase more than 170 yuan per ton, the annual net income of nearly 200,000 yuan."
The area is clean, the income is up, and Mr. Zhang believes it all stems from a decision he made two years ago.
"In 2022, the township will promote the" membrane composting "technology. I think it is time to change the concept, the rural environment is good, we can still 'smell'?" Mr. Zhang said that in that year, he signed a "membrane composting" contract with China Sea Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd. and purchased a set of equipment for the production of organic fertilizer.
"It is this device that has brought the most radical change to us. In the past, the villagers are hiding from us, and now they want to build houses closer to us, selling organic fertilizer is convenient! It also made me understand the benefits of ecological farming and circular development." Mr. Zhang said.
"Membrane composting" is a new organic fertilizer technology that can improve and repair soil and promote crop growth by harmless treatment of livestock and poultry manure by using nano covering film, automatic control system, burst air system and leachate collection system.
Today, the county has fully promoted the "membrane composting" project, covering all townships. In addition to signing contracts with farms, we also rely on modern agricultural parks and large growers to promote the use of organic fertilizers and further create an ecological agriculture environment.
An agricultural park in Gaotai County, Gansu Province is one of the first modern plantations to introduce "membrane compost".
At noon that day, the park's 400 mu grape planting base was a busy scene, and the park staff, Sister Wang, came to the fermentation bed between the fields to check the situation.
After adopting the "membrane composting" technology, the park has completely replaced the use of chemical fertilizers with organic fertilizers produced by itself. "The cost is lower, and the most important thing is that the soil quality and fruit quality have been significantly improved." In addition, the fermentation bed site is more flexible, can be placed in the field, so that the fertilizer is returned to the field nearby. We also plan to increase fermentation beds, and the grapes in our park will definitely get sweeter year by year in the future." Sister Wang said confidently.
Now, Gaotai County through the "membrane composting" technology on the "planting and breeding combination, farming and animal husbandry cycle" road has 12 agricultural parks, plus has used this technology more than 10 large farmers, annual conversion of organic fertilizer 150,000 tons, the output value of more than 90 million yuan, reduce the use of fertilizer nearly 10,000 tons, improve the soil more than 70,000 mu.
At present, there are 1205 livestock farms in Gaotai County, producing 230,000 tons of livestock and poultry solid waste annually, converting 150,000 tons into bio-organic fertilizer, and increasing income by more than 120 million yuan, which not only solves ecological problems but also increases economic income, achieving a win-win situation of social and economic benefits.
